Hal b\u00f6yle olunca da kitap okumalar\u0131m %94.6&#8217;s\u0131 <i><a href=\"index.php?msg=2516\">bir malum yerde<\/a><\/i> ger\u00e7ekle\u015fmede (along with other things&#8230; off \u00e7ok k\u00f6t\u00fcyd\u00fc, \u00f6z\u00fcr..). <\/p>\n<p>Blogla birlikte <a href=\"index.php?msg=912\">okuma listesi<\/a> tuttu\u011fumdan \u00f6t\u00fcr\u00fc, y\u0131l\u0131n kitab\u0131n\u0131, adaylar\u0131, kaybedenleri rahatl\u0131kla saptayabiliyorum. \u00d6ncelikle kazanan\u0131 a\u00e7\u0131klayay\u0131m &#8211; gayet net, teredd\u00fcte yer vermeyecek bir \u015fekilde:<\/p>\n<p><b>Susanna Clarke, <i>Jonathan Strange &#038; Mr. Norrell<\/i><\/b><br \/>\nJS&#038;MN, Susanna Clarke&#8217;nin \u015fimdilik tek kitab\u0131. Sevgili k\u0131zkarde\u015fim ve kay\u0131n\u00e7o sayesinde yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z bir <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boekenfestijn.com\/\">Utrecht Boekenfestijn<\/a> sayesinde -ki m\u00fcthi\u015f bir <i>event<\/i> idi bu festival olay\u0131- &#8364;4.5 gibi c\u00fczi bir fiyata ald\u0131m (hardcover&#8217;\u0131 da &#8364;5.5 muydu neydi, ta\u015f\u0131mas\u0131 daha kolay diye paperback&#8217;i tercih ettim &#8211; HHGTTG&#8217;nin seti mesela &#8364;10 gibi bir fiyatt\u0131). Tabii bir kitab\u0131n (kipat\u0131n) y\u0131l\u0131n listesine girmesi genelde fiyat\u0131na ba\u011fl\u0131 de\u011fil. Kitap Dickens&#8217;\u0131n \u00e7a\u011f\u0131ndan \u00e7\u0131k\u0131p gelmi\u015f gibi (2004 kitab\u0131, btw). Ola\u011fan\u00fcst\u00fc olaylar\u0131 gayet normal bir \u015fekilde anlatmas\u0131yla sizi kendine ba\u011fl\u0131yor. \u00d6yle b\u00fcy\u00fck bir olay\u0131n pe\u015finde ko\u015fturmaca da yok pek. Anlatmas\u0131 zor, ne desem yetersiz kal\u0131yor. Sayfalar\u0131 gayet keyifle birbiri ard\u0131na \u00e7eviredururken &#8220;\u015fu son 50 sayfada hi\u00e7 de kayda de\u011fer bir olay olmad\u0131 ama ne garip, ne kadar keyif ald\u0131m okurken&#8221; diyorsunuz gibi bir \u015fey&#8230; Bir de <i>the most peculiar comments and\/or narrator<\/i> olay\u0131 tabii ki (belirsiz fakat mevcut bir anlat\u0131c\u0131 var).<\/p>\n<p>Tad\u0131ml\u0131k olarak \u015funlar\u0131 buyrun:<\/p>\n<p><TABLE class=remark><TR><TD><\/p>\n<div align=justify>Poor Mr Norrell! Serinin bir \u00f6nceki kitab\u0131 olan <i>Look to the Windward<\/i> hayli yetkin bir kitapt\u0131, sons\u00f6z\u00fc de kendisinden sonra gelecek kitap hakk\u0131nda hayli iddial\u0131 vaatlerde bulunuyordu (sonradan anla\u015f\u0131ld\u0131 ki, bana \u00f6yle gelmi\u015f 8P ). Matter ba\u015fl\u0131yor, g\u00fczel ba\u015fl\u0131yor, gayet y\u00fcksek bir potansiyel bar\u0131nd\u0131r\u0131yor, giri\u015f iyi, geli\u015fme iyi. Ama o kadar. King ve masa lambas\u0131<\/a><\/i> olay\u0131 bir nevi. \u00c7ok \u00e7ok feci bir vakit israf\u0131yd\u0131 Matter. Hele de Banks&#8217;in kitab\u0131n yay\u0131nlanmas\u0131ndan \u00f6nce s\u00f6yledi\u011fi o s\u00f6zlerle birlikte tekrar ele al\u0131nd\u0131\u011f\u0131nda:<\/p>\n<p><TABLE class=remark><TR><TD><\/p>\n<div align=justify>Banks tells me that he has spent the past three months writing another Culture novel. It will be called Matter and is to be published next February. &#8220;It&#8217;s a real shelf-breaker,&#8221; he says enthusiastically. &#8220;It&#8217;s 204,000 words long and the last 4,000 consist of appendices and glossaries. It&#8217;s so complicated that even in its complexity it&#8217;s complex. I&#8217;m not sure the publishers will go for the appendices, but readers will need them. It&#8217;s filled with neologisms and characters who disappear for 150 pages and come back, with lots of flashbacks and -forwards. And the story involves different civilisations at different stages of technological evolution.
